Patna: Leaders from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have unanimously praised the Bihar budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, describing it as a progressive blueprint designed to propel the state into the ranks of developed regions in India over the next five years. The budget has been lauded for its focus on economic growth, youth employment, and agricultural support, with key figures highlighting its potential to accelerate Bihar's development trajectory.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary emphasized that the budget presents a clear and actionable road map for achieving a developed Bihar. He pointed to an estimated economic growth rate of 14.9% for Bihar in 2025-26, underscoring the state's robust financial momentum. "This budget is not just a financial document; it's a vision for transforming Bihar into a powerhouse of growth and prosperity," Choudhary stated, reflecting the government's ambitious goals.

Accelerating Development Pace

Senior JD(U) leader and Water Resources Department Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary echoed this sentiment, noting that the budget would significantly accelerate the pace of development in Bihar. He linked it directly to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's announcement to include Bihar in the list of developed states within five years. "This budget aligns perfectly with our chief minister's vision, ensuring that every sector receives the necessary impetus for growth," he added, highlighting the strategic planning behind the fiscal allocations.

Unique and Employment-Oriented Initiatives

Industries Minister Dilip Jaiswal termed the Bihar budget as unique and heavily oriented towards employment generation. He revealed plans to open skill training centers across the state, aimed at providing employment opportunities and making the youth self-reliant. Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) chief and State Minister Santosh Kumar Suman highlighted a historic decision in the budget: providing an honorarium of Rs 3,000 to farmers under the Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Samman Nidhi Yojana. He described this move as a significant step towards providing immediate economic relief to small and marginal farmers while strengthening the agricultural sector. BJP State President and Darbhanga MLA Sanjay Saraogi emphasized that Bihar is firmly on a growth trajectory, with the budgetary allocation increasing by approximately 10% from 2025-26 to 2026-27.
