Patna's JP Ganga Path Set to Become State's Top Attraction, Says CM Nitish Kumar
Nitish Kumar Inspects JP Ganga Path Beautification in Patna

Patna Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted a detailed inspection of the ongoing beautification and plantation work along the JP Ganga Path on Friday, expressing confidence that the stretch will soon emerge as one of the most attractive locations in the state capital.

Spot Inspection and Vision for a Vibrant Public Space

During his visit, the CM reviewed the progress of the comprehensive development project firsthand. He issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials and emphasized the need for timely completion. Nitish Kumar highlighted that the JP Ganga Path, running along the bank of the river Ganga, is a unique project for Patna. He stated that its planned beautification, which carefully considers the local environment, will transform the area into a major draw for citizens in the coming days.

Components of the Beautification Drive

The ambitious beautification programme encompasses a wide range of elements designed to enhance public utility and aesthetic appeal. Key features include:

  • Construction of prominent 20-foot gates.
  • Extensive landscaping and specialised design work.
  • Large-scale plantation to boost greenery.
  • Development of food parks and dedicated selfie points.

The path, often called Patna's own Marine Drive due to its popularity, has seen massive footfall since its construction. The current initiative aims to build on that success by adding recreational and leisure facilities.

Focus on Security and Timely Execution

While appreciating the quality of work, the Chief Minister also pointed out crucial aspects requiring attention. "Since the park is located near the bank of the river Ganga, the security aspects must also be taken care of," he told the officials accompanying him. He stressed that the creation of expansive green spaces and parks would attract families in large numbers.

Therefore, he directed the authorities to expedite the ongoing work and ensure its completion within the stipulated timeframe. He envisioned that the fully developed area, brimming with greenery, would offer a beautiful and refreshing experience to all visitors.

The inspection was attended by JD(U) working president and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Kumar Jha. Senior officials present included the CM’s principal secretary Deepak Kumar, secretary Chandrashekhar Singh, Patna divisional commissioner Animesh Parashar, and Patna DM Thiyagarajan S M.

With steady progress on the ground, the JP Ganga Path is poised to become a vibrant public space for Patna. It promises to offer recreation, lush greenery, and scenic riverside views, significantly enhancing the city's overall appeal for both residents and tourists.
