Patna Braces for Traffic Disruptions Ahead of BJP President's Visit
In anticipation of a large influx of party workers and supporters for BJP national president Nitin Nabin's program on Monday, the Patna traffic police have proactively rolled out an extensive traffic management strategy. This comprehensive plan, announced on Sunday, aims to mitigate congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement across the city during the high-profile event.
Key Road Restrictions and Diversions
According to the official traffic plan, several major roads will experience significant alterations. Vehicles approaching from the south side of the District Transport Office (DTO) are mandated to proceed via Tamtam Padav and Phuwarisharif, while those from the north side must use Jagdeo Path. A strict no-parking zone has been enforced from Patel Golambar to the airport to facilitate unimpeded traffic flow.
For attendees heading to the airport to receive the BJP president, the outer parking area of the airport has been designated for use. Air passengers are strongly advised to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled flight times between 11 am and 8 pm to account for expected delays due to the heightened activity.
Detailed Route Adjustments and Parking Protocols
The traffic plan further specifies that vehicles coming from Saguna More or Danapur and destined for East Hartali More should avoid their regular routes. South-bound movement on Bailey Road has been rerouted through Jagdeo Path, DTO, Tamtam Padav, and Phuwarisharif. Conversely, north-bound traffic is directed to take the Ashiana-Digha Road, passing through Digha, Kurji, Rajapur Pul, and Ashok Rajpath. Parking on Jagdeo Path will be completely prohibited throughout the duration of the program.
West-bound vehicles originating from Kankarbagh or Patna Junction will be diverted via GPO ROB, R-Block ROB, Gardanibagh ROB, and Anisabad Golambar. Traffic from Kargil Chowk heading to Rajapur Pul on West Ashok Rajpath is encouraged to utilize JP Ganga Path as an alternative route. Drivers proceeding from Exhibition Road to north Gandhi Maidan should head east from Ramgulam Chowk, while those approaching Gandhi Maidan from Rajapur Pul will continue east via JP Ganga Path.
Organized Entry and Parking Arrangements
To maintain order, the traffic police have instructed all participants, including party workers and the general public, to enter Gandhi Maiden through gate number 10. Small vehicles must be parked in an organized manner within the premises. Large vehicles and buses will be accommodated in a single-lane arrangement on JP Ganga Path, specifically in front of the commissioner's office. Vehicles belonging to MPs, MLAs, and other VIPs are required to enter via parking gate numbers 1 and 4, adhering to designated parking protocols to ensure efficiency and safety.
This meticulous planning underscores the authorities' commitment to managing the anticipated crowds and minimizing disruptions for residents and visitors alike during this significant political gathering.
