Multiple EVM Issues Reported by Opposition Leader
Rohit Pawar spoke to reporters while sharing 'misal pao' with party workers. He detailed several problems with Electronic Voting Machines across polling stations. "At some places, EVMs failed to operate completely," Pawar stated. "At other locations, they responded very slowly. We even discovered machines running 15 minutes ahead of actual time."
The MLA expressed deep concern about what he called deliberate chaos in election arrangements. He specifically criticized the organization of EVM machines at polling centers. "Instead of following alphabetical order, the machines appear randomly placed," Pawar explained. "Sometimes 'D' comes before 'B' or 'A.' This inconsistent arrangement creates unnecessary confusion for voters."
Voter List Problems and Family Separation Allegations
Pawar identified what he called the most serious issue facing voters. "Many citizens cannot find their names at assigned polling booths," he revealed. "Our party workers constantly field questions about missing voter names. It appears family members have been deliberately assigned to different voting centers."
The NCP leader suggested this represented a calculated effort to suppress voter turnout. "All these irregularities seem designed to favor one particular political party," Pawar alleged without naming the BJP directly. "But regardless of their tactics, the BJP will not gain power in Pimpri-Chinchwad."
Cash Distribution Claims Against BJP Workers
Rohit Pawar made serious accusations about BJP activities near polling stations. "We have witnessed BJP workers distributing voter slips within 100 meters of voting centers," he claimed. "Their fear of losing power has become obvious."
The MLA referenced changing victory predictions from BJP leaders. "First they claimed 100 seats, then 125 seats," Pawar noted. "Now they say electing a mayor would constitute achievement. This desperation led to cash distribution attempts last night to influence voters."
Pawar remained confident about public sentiment despite these allegations. "No matter what methods they employ, Pimpri-Chinchwad residents have decided to return NCP to power," he asserted.
Election Officials Provide Different Assessment
Election authorities in Pimpri-Chinchwad offered a contrasting perspective on polling day events. Officials acknowledged minor technical issues but emphasized quick resolutions. "We experienced EVM glitches at only two or three locations," an election official reported. "Our technical teams resolved all problems within thirty minutes."
The official further stated that no significant complaints had emerged from other city areas. "Polling has proceeded smoothly across most centers," the official added. "We continue monitoring the situation closely to ensure fair elections."
