Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, provided significant assurances on several key government initiatives and local issues during his campaign tour in the Ahilyanagar district. On the final day of campaigning for the municipal council elections, Shinde directly addressed public concerns, promising swift action on a stalled youth scheme and other welfare measures.
Youth Training Scheme Set for Revival
Speaking at public gatherings in Devlali Pravara, Nevasa, and Kopargaon, Shinde acknowledged that the Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana was facing operational hurdles. He assured citizens that the problems were minor and nearly resolved. "The scheme will start again soon," Shinde stated, emphasizing the government's commitment to its youth-centric programs.
He defended the overall performance of state-led initiatives, noting that most schemes were benefiting the people successfully. Shinde highlighted his administration's people-first approach over the past three-and-a-half years, specifically mentioning the Shasan Aplya Dari (Government at your doorstep) program as a key tool in assisting lakhs of Maharashtrians.
Commitments on Welfare Schemes and Local Demands
The Deputy CM also tackled questions regarding other flagship programs. On the popular Ladki Bahin scheme, which provides a monthly payout to women, Shinde addressed demands for an increased amount. "We have never failed you. On this issue as well we are committed to the same. The amount will be revised at the appropriate time," he declared, reinforcing his government's reliability.
For the agricultural community, Shinde offered hope regarding loan waivers, stating the government would make an announcement at an opportune time. His tour also highlighted hyper-local issues. In Kopargaon, he responded to slum dwellers' demands for inclusion in land rights records. As the minister in charge of the urban development department, Shinde promised to examine their request closely.
Addressing Immediate Safety Concerns
During his address in Devlali Pravara town, Shinde turned to a critical safety issue plaguing the area: the leopard menace. He assured residents that he was aware of the problem and that the government would take all necessary steps to ensure people could live without fear. This direct engagement with local environmental and safety challenges underscored the campaign's focus on grassroots governance.
