RJD Leader Tejashwi Yadav Condemns Nitish Kumar Government Over Bihar's Law and Order Situation

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national working president Tejashwi Prasad Yadav launched a sharp critique against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday, focusing on the escalating law-and-order crisis in the state. Yadav expressed strong objections to remarks made about former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, alleging that the current administration is failing to curb serious crimes while using inappropriate language in legislative proceedings.

Crime Incidents Described as "Too Much" by Opposition Leader

Speaking to reporters in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav highlighted that incidents of crime have become "too much," pointing specifically to cases involving the gang rape of minor girls. He referenced a recent case from Darbhanga to underscore his concerns. Yadav stated that the opposition has consistently raised these critical issues, with Rabri Devi addressing them in the Upper House of the Bihar Legislature.

Yadav alleged that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar failed to provide a substantive response to these concerns. Instead, he claimed that Kumar made remarks about Rabri Devi that were unacceptable and inappropriate. According to Yadav, such conduct from the Chief Minister inadvertently "boosted the morale of culprits," suggesting it could embolden criminals by undermining serious discourse on public safety.

JD(U) Spokesperson Defends Government and Criticizes Opposition Behavior

In response, Janata Dal (United) state spokesperson Anjum Ara defended the Chief Minister and criticized the behavior of opposition members. Ara asserted that opposition members were acting in an unruly manner during legislative sessions. "There is a proper way to raise matters in the House without creating a ruckus," she emphasized.

Ara further highlighted the importance of the House's functioning, noting that it involves public money and is crucial for addressing public issues. She defended Nitish Kumar's leadership, stating, "The mandate he received demonstrates people's faith in him, particularly among women." This statement aimed to counter the opposition's claims about the government's effectiveness in handling crime and governance.

The exchange underscores ongoing political tensions in Bihar, with the RJD challenging the JD(U)-led government on law and order, while the ruling party defends its record and accuses the opposition of disruptive tactics. The debate reflects broader concerns about public safety and legislative decorum in the state.
