A devastating road accident on the treacherous Chamba–Tissa road in Himachal Pradesh claimed three young lives on Wednesday night. The victims, all residents of Chamba district, were killed when their pickup vehicle lost control, veered off the road, and plunged approximately 300 metres into a deep gorge.

The tragic incident occurred late on Wednesday night. Preliminary investigations conducted by the local police strongly indicate that speeding was the primary cause of the accident. The force of the fall was severe, with the vehicle tumbling down a steep 300-metre slope.
While one of the occupants succumbed to his injuries on the spot, the other two were rushed to the Chamba Medical College in a critical condition. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, both were declared brought dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Victims Identified
The police have released the identities of the three young men who lost their lives in this heartbreaking event. The deceased are Taro Chand (22) from Dawari Chanju, Than Singh (19) from Sumra Dehra, and Balo (17) from Pundrodi Chanju. The loss of such young lives has sent a wave of grief through their local communities in Chamba.

The local authorities registered a formal case regarding the accident on Thursday. Following the necessary legal procedures, which included a post-mortem examination, the bodies were handed over to their grieving families.
