Yogi Adityanath Honors Sant Ravidas, Credits PM Modi for Vision

In Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath delivered a significant address on Sunday, marking the birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas by highlighting the timeless importance of 'karma'. The event saw the inauguration of a statue dedicated to the revered saint, with the CM drawing connections between ancient teachings and contemporary governance.

Emphasis on Karma and Righteousness

Yogi Adityanath underscored the principle of karma, stating, "If you do good deeds, you will get good results. If you do bad, you will face adverse consequences." He elaborated that Sant Ravidas, throughout his life, taught this core value, guiding society toward righteousness with the adage 'man changa to kathauti mein Ganga'—meaning a pure heart can turn even a wooden pot into the holy Ganges.

Critique of Past Leaders and Praise for PM Modi

The Chief Minister pointed out that previous leaders had largely forgotten the teachings of Sant Ravidas. In contrast, he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who assumed office in 2014, for working in mission mode to realize the saint's vision. Yogi emphasized that Modi's focus has been squarely on uplifting the poor and underprivileged sections of society.

He highlighted that under the BJP government, social welfare schemes now benefit recipients directly, bypassing middlemen. This approach, he noted, aligns with the mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' (Together with All, Development for All), with the double-engine government tirelessly catering to all societal segments.

Infrastructure Improvements in Varanasi

Yogi Adityanath shared details about the transformation at Seer Govardhan in Varanasi, the birthplace of Sant Ravidas. He mentioned that over two lakh devotees from across the country paid their respects there. Before 2017, the site suffered from weak infrastructure and poor connectivity. Through consistent efforts, a four-lane road has been constructed, additional space created for a community kitchen, and a statue of the saint installed that is visible from up to five kilometers away.

Call for Unity Against Divisive Forces

The CM also addressed the presence of divisive forces, urging everyone to stand united to counter them. He extended greetings to the people on Maghi Purnima, adding a festive note to the occasion.

Dignitaries Present at the Event

The ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, MLC Lalji Prasad Nirmal, MLA Amaresh Kumar, BJP's city president Anand Dwivedi, minority commission member Parvinder Singh, and Harishchand, president of the Sant Ravidas Seva Samiti.

This event not only commemorated Sant Ravidas's legacy but also served as a platform to showcase the government's developmental achievements and its alignment with spiritual values, reinforcing the message of karma and social welfare in modern governance.
