Yogi Adityanath Directs STF to Investigate KGMU Conversion Allegations

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken decisive action regarding the serious allegations at King George's Medical University in Lucknow. On Monday, he personally assured Vice-Chancellor Prof Soniya Nityanand that the Special Task Force will now handle the investigation.

High-Level Meeting Addresses Campus Concerns

During their meeting, Prof Nityanand provided the Chief Minister with a comprehensive briefing. She presented all relevant details about the January 9 incident that caused significant disruption at her office.

The Vice-Chancellor shared multiple documents with CM Yogi Adityanath. These included written submissions, photographic evidence, and supporting materials. She also explained the findings from the university's Internal Complaints Committee and outlined the applicable legal provisions.

Prof Nityanand emphasized the need to maintain the institution's dignity during their discussion. She specifically requested enhanced security measures for the Vice-Chancellor's office to prevent future disturbances.

STF Takes Over Investigation from University

The Chief Minister recognized the limitations of the university's internal inquiry. He explained that KGMU lacks both the specialized tools and the legal authority to investigate what appears to be a broader network.

"Since the university cannot properly investigate this wider network, the STF will take over," CM Yogi Adityanath told the Vice-Chancellor. He gave his personal assurance that the Special Task Force would conduct a thorough and complete investigation.

The probe will specifically examine whether anyone assisted Dr Rameezuddin. This doctor faces serious accusations of sexual harassment and attempting to force religious conversion on a female colleague.

CM Yogi Adityanath made his position perfectly clear regarding potential consequences. He stated that anyone found guilty would face strict disciplinary action, including immediate suspension from their position.

University Staff Express Frustration Over Delayed FIR

Meanwhile, tension continues to build among KGMU staff members. A joint committee representing teachers, resident doctors, nursing staff, and university employees has voiced strong dissatisfaction.

These staff members feel frustrated by the delayed registration of a First Information Report. They want official police action regarding the alleged vandalism and inappropriate behavior toward women on campus.

The committee has announced a work boycott starting Wednesday. They plan to suspend all outpatient department services and non-essential work until their demands receive proper attention.

Originally scheduled for Tuesday, this boycott was temporarily postponed. The Vice-Chancellor personally requested that hospital services continue without disruption during this sensitive period.

Prof KK Singh, who leads the Teachers' Association, explained their position clearly. "We need a strong message sent through an FIR registration to prevent similar incidents," he stated. The association has issued a twenty-four-hour ultimatum for FIR registration before implementing their boycott plan.

This developing situation at one of Uttar Pradesh's premier medical institutions continues to unfold. All parties now await the Special Task Force's investigation findings and subsequent actions.
