Free Runners Celebrates a Decade of Running Excellence and Community Spirit
On February 22, the Free Runners running club commemorated its 10th anniversary with a joyous celebration at the RMV Club near HIG Colony. The event was filled with banter, nostalgia, and emotional moments as members reflected on their journey together. This milestone highlights the club's growth from a small, motley group into a close-knit running family that supports each other's goals and achievements.
Notable Achievements and Missed Celebrations
One of the club's standout members, Manju Mittur, 45, from Kolar, who is known as the fastest runner in the group, was absent from the anniversary event for a commendable reason. He qualified for the prestigious Boston Marathon during the Delhi Marathon held on the same day, February 22, making the Free Runners proud on their special anniversary. Manju shared his excitement, stating, "The next few months are crucial. I'm focusing on strength training now." His qualification is a testament to the club's motivating environment.

Every achievement is celebrated."
Community Support and Membership Criteria
The club operates on a foundation of mutual encouragement and camaraderie. Membership is open to anyone who has completed a half-marathon (21.1K), fostering a community of dedicated athletes. Regular Sunday runs around Sankey Tank have been instrumental in cementing bonds among members, turning casual joggers into lifelong friends.
Personal Stories of Inspiration and Assistance
In a heartfelt account, Manju Mittur revealed the depth of support within the club. He said, "I'm preparing for the Boston Marathon, the oldest marathon in the world.
