Nerea Marti: Andretti Ambassador Ready for Madrid E-Prix Home Race

Nerea Marti Prepares for Home Race as Andretti Ambassador in Madrid

Andretti team ambassador Nerea Marti is eagerly anticipating Round 6 of the championship in Madrid, which holds special significance as her home race. In her ambassadorial capacity, she will represent the Andretti organization, leveraging her Spanish language skills to foster deeper connections with local fans at the upcoming Madrid E-Prix.

Dual Role: Fan Engagement and Behind-the-Scenes Contributions

Marti's responsibilities extend far beyond the track. She actively engages with supporters through interviews and social media activities, aiming to increase visibility and create opportunities in key markets like Mexico, Miami, and Madrid. "I love going to Madrid, and Formula E being there is great," Marti told FormulaE.com. "I can speak Spanish with them, so it's easier to connect with people."

While she previously drove for Andretti during the 2024 and 2025 preseason Women's Tests in Madrid and Valencia, her current role keeps her closely involved. "I would love to drive there, but in my new role it's still great to be there with the team at my home race, and I will be supporting the team a lot," she added.

In addition to her ambassador duties, Marti serves as a simulator driver when not interacting with fans during race weekends. This behind-the-scenes work is crucial for driver preparation. "The simulator is not easy," she explained. "But it's nice because you can learn all the tracks, all the procedures, and all the reference points, so it helps a lot, especially for the drivers when preparing for race weekends, to be ready and do the work before coming to the track. It's really important to arrive prepared."

Inspiring the Next Generation of Women in Motorsports

Marti believes her presence and role can inspire more women to pursue careers in motorsports. She has observed significant progress in female participation, crediting initiatives like the W Series, F1 Academy, and Formula E for creating more opportunities and visibility. "Now it has changed a lot because everyone is pushing to have more girls in motorsport," Marti stated.

Reflecting on grassroots development, she shared: "Now, when I go to karting, which is the grassroots level of motorsport, I see many girls starting out, and I'm really proud of this because I think we've opened those doors. I'm excited about it. They see that we are racing and competing in important championships already, so I think some girls say, 'I want to be there too.'"

Marti will next be seen engaging with fans at the Madrid E-Prix, scheduled for March 20-21, where she will continue to bridge the gap between the team and its supporters while advocating for greater diversity in the sport.
