Karachi Kings captain David Warner has questioned the absence of his team’s players from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 Team of the Tournament, raising doubts over how the selections were made.
PCB Announces Team of the Tournament
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the team on Monday. Babar Azam was named captain after leading Peshawar Zalmi to the title and performing well with the bat. The squad included three players each from Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen, two each from Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United, and one player each from Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators. There were no players from Karachi Kings or Rawalpindi sides in the 12-member list.
Selection Panel and Warner’s Reaction
The selections were made by a five-member panel from the tournament’s commentary group, which also picked the Emerging Team of the Tournament. Warner reacted on Instagram, commenting on the PSL’s official post: “Where is Karachi players,” questioning the omission of players from his team.
Warner was Karachi Kings’ top run-scorer, scoring 256 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 147.97, including three half-centuries. Hasan Ali also had a strong season, taking 15 wickets in nine matches and finishing among the leading wicket-takers.
