Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Wednesday urged youngsters to learn new technologies to stay relevant in the rapidly changing world. Addressing a gathering at the Khalsa College in Amritsar, he said that the youth should focus on acquiring skills in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other emerging fields.

The governor was speaking at the 125th anniversary celebrations of the Khalsa College Governing Council. He highlighted the importance of adapting to new technologies and said that the world is moving towards a digital economy. "The youth must learn new technologies to succeed in their careers and contribute to nation-building," he said.
Emphasis on Skill Development
Purohit stressed that the government is taking steps to promote skill development among the youth. He said that the National Education Policy 2020 focuses on vocational training and practical knowledge. "Students should not only focus on theoretical knowledge but also gain hands-on experience in their respective fields," he added.
The governor also inaugurated a newly constructed building for the college's computer science department. He praised the college for its efforts in providing quality education and promoting research activities.
Call for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Encouraging youngsters to become job creators rather than job seekers, the governor said that innovation and entrepreneurship are key to economic growth. He urged students to develop innovative solutions to societal problems and contribute to the country's development.
The event was attended by college officials, faculty members, and a large number of students. The governor interacted with students and answered their queries about career opportunities in the tech sector.
