Biharsharif: Chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit on Saturday reiterated the state government's commitment to supporting Nalanda University's growth as an international centre of learning during his visit to the newly developed campus.

Review of Academic and Infrastructure Developments

Amrit reviewed the university's academic activities, infrastructure, and environment-friendly 'Net Zero' model during the visit. Nalanda District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, along with other senior officials, accompanied him.

University officials made a detailed presentation on the institution's historical legacy and current academic structure, including its schools of historical studies, ecology and environment studies, and Buddhist studies.

Inspection of Key Facilities

Amrit inspected the university's modern library, Sushma Swaraj Auditorium, yoga complex, and academic blocks. He appreciated the seamless blend of ancient Nalanda architecture with modern technology across the campus.

Sustainable Development Initiatives

The chief secretary also reviewed the university's 6.5MW solar farm, biogas plant, and water harvesting systems, describing the campus as a model of sustainable development. He said the university's Net Zero carbon footprint model should serve as an inspiration for other institutions across Bihar.

This visit underscores the state government's focus on promoting sustainable and world-class educational infrastructure in Bihar.
