India has called upon BRICS nations to enhance cooperation in strengthening the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector to drive economic growth and innovation. The appeal was made at a BRICS forum where Uttar Pradesh MSME Minister Bhupendra Chaudhary highlighted the pivotal role of MSMEs in employment generation and economic development.
MSMEs as a Pillar of Growth
Addressing the forum, Chaudhary emphasized that the MSME sector in Uttar Pradesh serves as a key pillar for employment, innovation, and overall economic progress. He noted that collaboration among BRICS countries could unlock new opportunities for small businesses, fostering entrepreneurship and technological advancement.
Call for Joint Initiatives
The minister urged BRICS members to share best practices and implement joint programs to support MSMEs. He stressed that such cooperation would help overcome challenges like access to finance, technology gaps, and market linkages, ultimately boosting the sector's contribution to the global economy.
India's push for MSME collaboration aligns with its broader strategy to strengthen the sector domestically, where MSMEs account for a significant share of manufacturing output and exports. The BRICS forum provided a platform to discuss policy frameworks and initiatives that could benefit member nations.
The event underscored India's commitment to fostering inclusive growth through international partnerships, with the MSME sector at the forefront of this vision.
