Kochi: To facilitate track renewal works at Ernakulam Junction yard starting Saturday, train services will be regulated until May 26. The Southern Railway has announced diversions and delays for several express trains passing through the region.
Train Diversions and Stoppage Changes
Train No 16128 Guruvayur-Chennai Egmore Express, departing from Guruvayur, will be diverted between Ernakulam Town and Kayamkulam Junction to run via Kottayam. It will skip scheduled stoppages at Ernakulam Junction, Cherthala, Alappuzha, Ambalappuzha, and Haripad until May 26, except on May 10 and 24. For passenger convenience, additional temporary stoppages will be provided at Kottayam, Chengannur, Thiruvalla, and Changanassery on the diverted route.
Train No 16603 Mangaluru Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Maveli Express, leaving Mangaluru Central on May 15, will be diverted between Ernakulam Town and Kayamkulam Junction to run via the Kottayam route. It will skip its scheduled stops at Ernakulam Junction, Cherthala, Alappuzha, Ambalappuzha, and Haripad. Additional stoppages will be provided at Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Thiruvalla, and Chengannur on the diverted route.
Train No 22207 MGR Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central AC Superfast Express, departing from MGR Chennai Central on May 15 and 22, will be diverted between Ernakulam Town and Kayamkulam Junction to run via Kottayam. It will skip stoppages at Ernakulam Junction and Alappuzha. Additional stoppages will be provided at Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, and Chengannur.
Train No 16355 Kochuveli-Mangaluru Junction Antyodaya Express, leaving Kochuveli on May 9, 14, 16, 21, and 23, will be diverted between Kayamkulam Junction and Ernakulam Town to run via Kottayam, skipping stops at Alappuzha and Ernakulam Junction. Additional stoppages will be provided at Chengannur, Kottayam, and Ernakulam Town.
Train Delays
Train No 16356 Mangaluru Junction-Thiruvananthapuram North Antyodaya Express, departing from Mangaluru Junction on May 15 and 22, will be delayed by approximately 30 to 40 minutes en route.
Train No 16603 Mangaluru Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Maveli Express, leaving Mangaluru Central on May 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 25, and 26, will be delayed by approximately 40 minutes en route.
