Leopard Captured in Koppal, Shifted to Kamalapur Zoo

Koppal: A leopard that had been roaming near Kasanakandi village close to Munirabad for the past few days was successfully captured in a cage set up by the forest department on Thursday. The big cat, believed to be about two years old, was safely rescued by forest personnel. After undergoing a thorough medical examination, it was transferred to Kamalapur zoo in Vijayanagara.

Panic Among Locals and Training Centers

The leopard's movement had caused widespread panic among the staff and families of the nearby IRB and KSRP training centers, as well as residents of surrounding villages. The forest department acted swiftly, installing a trap immediately upon receiving reports of the animal's presence. Continuous surveillance was maintained in the area to ensure safety.

Successful Operation

The operation concluded without any incident, with the leopard being captured safely. The successful rescue and relocation have brought relief to the local community, who had been living in fear since the leopard was first spotted. The forest officials have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any wildlife sightings promptly.
