Light Rain Showers Delhi-NCR, IMD Issues Weather Alert

Residents of Delhi and Noida woke up to light rain on Wednesday morning, as predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This weather event comes a day after the IMD forecast drizzle and a slight decrease in daytime temperatures for the region.

IMD Forecast and Temperature Details

The IMD had issued a yellow alert for Delhi, anticipating overcast skies accompanied by light rainfall. According to the department's latest update, maximum temperatures are expected to settle between 26°C and 28°C, while minimum temperatures may range from 13°C to 15°C.

Officials stated that minimum temperatures are likely to remain largely unchanged over the next 24 hours. However, they are projected to dip by 2–3°C over the following two days. No significant change is expected thereafter, indicating a brief cooling period.

Recent Weather Patterns and Wind Conditions

On Tuesday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 30.9°C, which was slightly lower than Monday's 31.6°C. The minimum temperature stood at 12.4°C, marginally above normal, compared to 10.1°C the previous day. During this period, north-westerly winds blew at speeds of up to 6 kmph, contributing to the cooler conditions.

The light rain and overcast skies are part of a seasonal shift, providing temporary relief from the usual dry weather. Residents are advised to stay updated with IMD alerts as the situation evolves.
