NEET Re-exam: Late Students Denied Entry, Seen Crying

On June 21, 2026, several students arriving late for the NEET-UG re-examination were denied entry at centres in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Visuals from Bengaluru showed students crying and attempting to enter through the gates after being turned away.

Incidents at Bengaluru Centre

Footage shared by IANS depicted distressed students at a Bengaluru examination centre, some in tears, trying to persuade authorities to let them in. The re-examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), had strict timing protocols, and latecomers were not permitted entry.

Bhopal Denial and Family Reaction

In Bhopal, two students were similarly denied entry. Amir Qadri, uncle of one aspirant, told PTI, "I have come here with my nephew for his examination. While on our way to the examination centre, we faced traffic issues. Despite reaching only a few minutes late, the officials did not allow him to enter." He appealed for leniency, citing the students' hard work and preparation.
