The NEET-UG re-examination conducted on June 21, 2026, drew mixed reactions from candidates across the country, with many describing the paper as moderate overall but noting that the physics section was lengthy and slightly more challenging than in previous years.
Candidates Share Their Experience
At a Delhi examination centre, a candidate who spoke to ANI said, "The exam was quite moderate. Physics was quite lengthy. A little bit tougher than last time. Biology was good and Chemistry was moderate." Similar sentiments were echoed in Bengaluru, where a candidate told Press Trust of India, "NEET-UG question paper difficulty level was moderate. Chemistry was easy, while the physics section was a bit lengthy."
Special Arrangements for Injured Aspirant
In a notable development, NEET aspirant Shrishti Dubey, who suffered severe injuries in a road accident on June 14 and underwent major vascular surgery, was allowed to appear for the examination with special medical arrangements. This was made possible after intervention by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, as reported by All India Radio News.
Overall Assessment
The re-examination, which was ordered following a controversy over the original test, saw candidates from various states participating. The biology section was widely considered to be good, while chemistry was rated as moderate to easy. The physics section, however, was consistently described as lengthy and slightly more difficult compared to the previous year's paper.
