In anticipation of the significant passenger surge during the upcoming Holi festival, Indian Railways has announced the operation of at least two special trains that will pass through Ludhiana. These services are specifically designed to cater to the city's requirements, particularly addressing the needs of its large migrant population who travel to their native places in other states to celebrate the festival with their families.

Ferozepur Cantt-Danapur Reserved Special Express Details

The Ferozepur Cantt-Danapur Reserved Special Express will run three trips from Ferozepur on February 26, March 2, and March 6, 2026. Corresponding return trips from Danapur are scheduled for February 27, March 3, and March 7, 2026. This train will pass through Ludhiana, making a scheduled halt at Ludhiana railway station with a reversal. The comprehensive route includes major stations such as:

  • Ambala Cantt
  • Moradabad
  • Lucknow
  • Varanasi
  • Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction
  • Ara

before ultimately reaching Danapur in Bihar, facilitating seamless travel for passengers heading to eastern regions.

Amritsar-Katihar Reserved Special Express Schedule

Additionally, the Amritsar-Katihar Reserved Special Express will operate three trips from Amritsar on February 25, March 1, and March 5, 2026. Return journeys from Katihar are set for February 27, March 3, and March 7, 2026. This train will also pass through the division, serving passengers traveling towards eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, thereby enhancing connectivity during the festive period.
