This downturn is primarily attributed to the cancellation of flights to three key destinations in the United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. On Wednesday alone, six services operated by Air India Express to and from these cities were cancelled, exacerbating the travel woes for many.
The impact has extended beyond international routes, affecting domestic travel as well. Data as of March 3 indicates that domestic passenger traffic to cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Thiruvananthapuram has fallen by nearly 25%.
