In a proactive response to the ongoing underground fire and toxic gas emissions in the Kenduadih police station limits, senior officials from the Dhanbad Municipal Corporation have undertaken a thorough inspection of the water supply lines. This move aims to safeguard essential services and prevent potential disruptions for residents in the affected zones.
Commissioner Ashish Gangwar Leads On-Site Assessment
Municipal Commissioner Ashish Gangwar personally visited the fire-affected region on Thursday and Friday to assess the situation firsthand. During the inspection, the water supply lines were rigorously tested and monitored for any signs of damage or leakage. Fortunately, no immediate issues were detected, providing temporary relief to the authorities.
Contingency Plans Developed for Summer Water Supply
Officials have revealed that the civic body is actively preparing contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted water supply to subsidence-prone areas during the upcoming summer months. The frequent ground instability and gas leakage incidents pose a significant threat to underground pipelines, prompting preemptive measures.
Commissioner Gangwar emphasized the importance of these steps, stating, "We have taken preventive steps and ensured alternative arrangements so that residents do not suffer from lack of water, which is a basic necessity. In anticipation of any future disruption, backup systems are being put in place to maintain regular supply."
This initiative underscores the municipality's commitment to addressing public safety concerns and maintaining essential infrastructure in the face of environmental challenges. The ongoing efforts highlight a strategic approach to mitigate risks and ensure community well-being in Dhanbad.
