The Mission Shakti teams are set to organize 'Bahu-Beti Sammelans' in villages across all police stations in the Prayagraj range, with a focus on raising awareness about women's health, safety, and rights. These gatherings will be conducted in the districts of Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, and Pratapgarh.
Focus Areas of the Sammelans
Participants will be educated on various issues including women's health and nutrition, particularly anaemia, hygiene, safety of women and children, legal rights, helpline numbers, and cyber security. The initiative aims to empower women through knowledge and support.
Fatehpur District Plans
On Thursday, Fatehpur police released a list of over 70 villages across its 22 police stations where these sammelans will be conducted between June 21 and 28. The sessions will also cover Mission Shakti schemes, financial independence, the role of self-help groups, and child health.
Special Emphasis on Adolescent Girls
Special emphasis will be placed on sensitizing girls and adolescent females about molestation, harassment, child protection, provisions of the POCSO Act, safe behavior, and the legal and social consequences of eloping.
Police Official's Statement
Fatehpur Superintendent of Police, Abhimanyu Manglik, told TOI that in line with the recommendations of 'Police Manthan-2025' by the Director General of Police, the initiative aims to promote women's safety, empowerment, and self-reliance. He added, "Through these sammelans, women's grievances will be heard and necessary counselling and assistance provided to ensure their safety, respect and empowerment."
