The Ludhiana police registered a case on Saturday against 10 accused in connection with an alleged clash between two groups of transgender individuals, officials said. The incident stemmed from a dispute over money collection.
Incident Details
According to information, individuals from one group stopped the vehicle of the other group and attacked them with sharp-edged weapons while issuing death threats. The incident occurred on June 15 in the Atam Nagar area.
After a complaint by the victim, Chhoti Mahant, a resident of Khwaja Kothi, the Model Town police registered the case and initiated an investigation.
Complainant's Account
The complainant stated that she went to the Atam Nagar area to offer greetings and had an altercation with Raveena, Mona, Pooja, Suhana, Rashika, Ruby, Rehmat, Hifazat, Dilawar Marasi (drum master), and driver Shiv Kunwar, who were already present. She claimed she merely asked them not to come to her area to collect money, which escalated the situation.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are investigating further.
