Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal took decisive steps late on Friday night, removing ACP Panki Shikhar Kumar from his post for failing to demonstrate the required alertness and seriousness in the case. Simultaneously, Bhimsen Police out-post in-charge Bhimsen Dinesh Kumar was suspended. According to the Commissioner, the chowki in-charge not only failed to inform his superiors about the grave incident but also proceeded on leave. The charge of the ACP has been handed over to Manoj Kumar Singh.
Horrific Details of the Sachendi Gang-Rape Emerge
The incident unfolded on Monday night around 10 PM. The victim, a 14-year-old resident of a Sachendi village, had stepped out a short distance from her home for some work. Police stated that she returned home in a severely distressed state around midnight. She recounted to her family that two men in a black car had forcibly pulled her inside the vehicle. The assailants then took her near a railway line and raped her.
In a shocking display of apathy, when the traumatized family approached the Bhimsen Police out-post for help, they were turned away. The girl had informed her family that one of the perpetrators was a policeman. Undeterred, the family then went to the Sachendi police station, where a First Information Report (FIR) was finally registered against unknown occupants of the car for abduction and rape.
Manhunt Intensifies as Key Accused Identified
One of the primary accused in the case has been identified as YouTuber Shivbaran Yadav, who is currently in judicial custody. However, the search is intensifying for another accused, sub-inspector Amit Maurya, with police teams conducting raids to locate and apprehend him.
