Bengaluru Police Nab Fake Gun Maker in Bar Threat Case
Police in Bengaluru have arrested a man for crafting a fake double-barrel gun. The weapon was used to threaten a cashier at a bar-cum-restaurant in Nandagudi, Hoskote. The incident occurred because the cashier refused to serve free liquor to a local rowdy.
Dramatic Scene Unfolds at Bar
The drama started around 6.40 pm on Sunday. A masked man entered the establishment holding what looked like a country-made double-barrel gun. He shouted at the cashier and other staff members in Kannada. His anger stemmed from their refusal to provide free alcohol to his boss.
"Do you guys have any idea what fate you will meet for refusing liquor to my boss?" the man yelled. "Do you know who he is? Don't you people wish to live long?"
He was accompanied by two associates: Jahid Khan, a known rowdy sheeter with the Nandagudi police station, and Aathiq Khan, the tinkering shop owner who later made the fake gun.
Police Swiftly Respond and Make Arrest
A customer standing near the gunman tried to calm the trio but failed. Another customer quickly called the police. A patrolling police vehicle arrived at the spot immediately.
Seeing the cops, the three men ran away. However, officers managed to catch Aathiq Khan. They also seized the fake gun he had created.
Fake Gun Details Revealed
The so-called "double-barrel gun" was a crude imitation. Police examination showed it was made from two metal pipes attached to a wooden stock. A black belt completed the assembly. Crucially, the device had no firing pin, making it incapable of firing bullets.
Aathiq Khan, the arrested individual, owns a tinkering shop. He is now in police custody for manufacturing the fake firearm.
Search Continues for Accomplices
Police are actively searching for the other two men involved in the threat. Jahid Khan, the rowdy sheeter, remains at large. Authorities are also looking for the masked man who brandished the fake gun during the incident.
This case highlights ongoing efforts by Bengaluru police to tackle local crime and intimidation tactics. The use of a non-functional weapon adds a bizarre twist to the confrontation over free liquor.
