Bhopal: Nazirabad police have registered a case against a 19-year-old youth for abetment to suicide after a 16-year-old girl died by suicide on December 15 last year. According to police, the victim had dropped out of school after completing Class 8.
The accused, who was her neighbour, had allegedly been harassing her for an extended period. He stalked her, obtained her mobile number, and repeatedly pressured her to engage in conversation with him. Unable to endure the continuous harassment, the girl took the drastic step of ending her life.
No suicide note was discovered at the scene. Acting on a tip-off, police arrived at the location and initiated legal proceedings. During the investigation, the girl's family informed authorities about the harassment inflicted by the neighbour. Based on their statements, an FIR was filed against the 19-year-old under charges of abetment to suicide. The investigation is currently ongoing.
