Mangaluru: Broker Arrested, Two Constables Suspended for PCC Forgery

Bajpe police in Mangaluru have arrested a broker and suspended two constables for their alleged involvement in forging police clearance certificates (PCC) for labourers. City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy stated that the broker facilitated police verification for labourers seeking employment, bypassing actual field verification and the inspector's signature. A case has been registered, the broker arrested, and the constables suspended.

Initial investigations reveal that the labourers were impoverished individuals seeking work, and the broker exploited them with the cooperation of the suspended constables. Further inquiries are expected to uncover more details. The Bajpe police have filed a case under Sections 336(2), 336(3), 340(2), 316(2), 316(5), and 318(4) of the BNS against Bharath from Yakkar, Mamatha from Mangaluru, and the police staff. The accused allegedly forged 31 PCCs without the knowledge of the police inspector.
