The Goindwal Sahib police have registered a case against four individuals accused of attacking and seriously injuring an ex-serviceman a few days ago. The incident stems from a dispute over a house in Goindwal Sahib, Tarn Taran district.
Accused identified in attack on ex-serviceman
The accused include Jeetu, a resident of Nagoke, Gurjit Singh and Sukhwinder Kaur, a resident of Goindwal Sahib, along with an unidentified person. According to police, Jarmanjit Singh, the ex-serviceman, had purchased a house in Goindwal Sahib and allowed Sukhwinder Kaur to live there without charging any rent. When Singh later asked her to vacate the property, she allegedly began arguing with him.
Details of the assault
A few days ago, Sukhwinder Kaur, along with her son-in-law Jeetu, Gurjit Singh, and another unidentified individual, stopped Jarmanjit Singh on his way and allegedly attacked him with sharp-edged weapons. Singh sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Tarn Taran, where doctors issued a Medico Legal Report (MLR).
Police action and legal proceedings
The investigating officer, ASI Nishan Singh, confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused under Sections 115 (2), 118 (2), 351 (2), 190, and 191 (3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused are currently absconding, and police are conducting raids to apprehend them.
