Gold ornaments stolen from house in Kanyadi
In a theft reported at Kanyadi in Belthangady taluk, gold ornaments worth Rs 7.9 lakh were stolen from a house. The complainant had locked her house while leaving for work on Saturday. Upon returning home in the evening, she noticed that gold ornaments weighing approximately 60g had been stolen.
Police investigation underway
Police said the complainant, Jayashree, 32, a resident of Kanyadi, had left the key near the house before leaving for work. When she returned home in the evening, she found the almirah door open and items in the room scattered. Upon inspection, she discovered that gold ornaments, valued at an estimated Rs 7,98,000, had been stolen. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at the Belthangady police station under Sections 331(3) and 305 of the BNS, and an investigation is underway.
