Man Arrested for Robbing Home in Guwahati Colony

Guwahati: A 33-year-old man was arrested on Friday for allegedly robbing a residence at Doordarshan colony in the city's Borbari area. Dispur police station officers identified the accused as Tridip Kumar Das, a resident of Misamari town in Sonitpur district. According to an officer, Das was staying in the city with his fiancée, who works as a teacher at a private school.

The incident occurred last Saturday, prompting the victim, Mrinal Boro, to file a complaint. Based on technical analysis and CCTV footage, police apprehended Das and registered a case. The police recovered the dummy gun allegedly used during the robbery from Das's possession.

According to the police, Das forced his way into a flat where only a minor was present. He threatened the minor with the dummy gun before targeting an almirah, from which he stole cash and other valuables, and then fled the scene.

Police Investigation and Arrest

The arrest was made possible through thorough technical analysis and review of available CCTV footage. Dispur police have registered a case against Das and are continuing their investigation to recover the stolen items. The dummy gun, a key piece of evidence, has been seized.
