The Nakodar police have registered a case against a migrant youth for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl. The accused has been identified as Pachu Sahni, a native of Bihar currently residing in Uggi village. According to the complaint filed by the victim's mother, also a resident of Uggi village, the accused kidnapped her minor daughter and confined her at an undisclosed location. Police have initiated an investigation and are searching for the accused.
Drug Peddler Arrested in Separate Operation
In a related crackdown, the Nakodar police arrested a person on charges of selling intoxicating tablets. The suspect, identified as Sandip of Uggi village, was found in possession of 16 tablets. A case under Sections 22, 61, and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against him. The arrest is part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region.
Proclaimed Offender Apprehended
In another development, the Shahkot police arrested a proclaimed offender (PO) who had been absconding since last year. The accused, Ajay Kumar of Shahjahanpur village in Kapurthala, was wanted in a drug peddling case. His arrest brings closure to a long-pending warrant. The police have produced him before the court for further legal proceedings.
