Murder Suspect Flees Police During Investigation in Pune
A murder accused managed to escape from police custody on Wednesday evening in Pune. The incident occurred when officers took him to his residence in Hingne Khurd for investigation purposes.
Police Register Case Against Fugitive
The Sinhagad Road police have registered a case against the escaped suspect, identified as Nitin Waghmare. This 26-year-old man remains at large following his dramatic escape.
Police constable Shrikant Kirawale from the Mangaon police station filed the official complaint about the escape. Law enforcement authorities have deployed multiple teams to track down Waghmare.
Background of the Murder Case
Waghmare faced arrest in connection with a murder that occurred in the Tamhini Ghat area. Police discovered the body of Aditya Bhagat, a 22-year-old resident of Bhosari, on January 11th.
Investigators believe Waghmare murdered Bhagat inside the victim's own car. He then allegedly dumped the body in the Tamhini Ghat section. Police sources indicate the killing resulted from arguments about money matters.
Arrest and Investigation Details
The Baner police arrested Waghmare when he attempted to sell Bhagat's vehicle. Authorities also took another suspect, Tushar Patole, into custody. This 24-year-old Karvenagar resident faces charges in the same case.
Police handed both accused individuals over to the Mangaon police for further investigation. Law enforcement officials confirmed that a third accomplice remains on the run.
Escape During House Search
A Mangaon police team brought Waghmare to Pune on Wednesday to conduct searches at his Hingne Khurd residence. While officers were completing official documentation inside the house, Waghmare made his move.
The accused pushed constable Kirawale and fled the scene. Police teams immediately launched search operations throughout the area.
Authorities continue their efforts to locate and apprehend the escaped murder suspect. The investigation into both the original murder and the escape incident remains ongoing.
