A 55-year-old Noida resident, Krishna Kumar, was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances in a canal located in Hasan Garh village, falling under the Khurja Dehat police station in Bulandshahr district on Friday, as confirmed by police authorities.
According to the Superintendent of Police (Rural) Antriksh Jain, initial investigations revealed that the deceased bore multiple injury marks on his body, particularly on the neck and head. "The nature of the injuries suggests the possibility of murder, but we are awaiting the autopsy report for confirmation," Jain stated.
Police officials noted that the circumstances surrounding how Kumar reached Khurja remain unclear. Investigative teams are actively working to trace his last movements and identify potential suspects in the case.
Surajpur Station House Officer Vinod Kumar provided additional details, stating that the man had been missing since April 29 and a complaint had been registered. "He was last seen in Dadri and was captured on CCTV footage. He was alone at that time. The family reported that he lived an austere life without any known enmity with anyone. However, he was reportedly depressed due to personal health issues. We are investigating the case thoroughly," the SHO said.
The police have not ruled out any possibilities and are examining all angles, including the possibility of suicide or accident, though the injury marks point towards foul play.
Further updates are expected once the post-mortem examination report is received, which will provide clarity on the exact cause of death.
