Rajasthan Police Detain Suspect in Gujarat for Bikaner Gang-Rape Case

Rajasthan Police detained one person in Gujarat on Monday. This action relates to the alleged abduction and gang-rape of an 18-year-old girl in Bikaner district. The crime occurred on January 6 in a moving car.

Accused Being Brought to Bikaner for Questioning

The detained accused is now being transported to Bikaner. Police will question him there. Authorities continue to search for a second accused individual. They are also looking for the vehicle used in the crime.

Details of the Incident from Police Complaint

The First Information Report (FIR) provides details from the family's police complaint. It states the girl was traveling to school when the crime happened. Two accused men deceived her into entering their car. They promised to drop her at school.

A senior officer from Napasar police station in Bikaner explained the situation. "Since one of the youths was an acquaintance, she trusted him," the officer said.

Timeline of Events and Police Response

After committing the crime, the men dropped the girl near her house. She managed to reach home from there. However, the family reported the incident to police five days later, on Sunday.

Police registered an FIR following the report. This initiated an investigation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Charges include kidnapping and gang-rape.

Official Statement and Medical Examination

Bikaner Superintendent of Police Kavendra Sagar addressed the case. "The detained accused will be thoroughly questioned," Sagar stated. "Legal action will be taken based on the evidence collected."

Authorities have sent the girl for a medical examination. This step is part of the standard procedure in such cases.
