Second Fire in Two Days at Prayagraj's Magh Mela Area Damages Tents
Second Fire in Two Days at Prayagraj's Magh Mela

A significant fire erupted at the Bade-Chhote Brahma Maharaj Ashram in Prayagraj's Magh Mela area on Wednesday. The blaze occurred in Sector 4 under the jurisdiction of the Kalpwasi police station. It quickly consumed two Maharaja tents and three Swiss cottages at the ashram.

Fire Spreads to Nearby Tent

The fire did not remain confined to the ashram. It spread to a tent belonging to a nearby organization run by Shri Prakash Chandra Mishra. This additional structure also caught fire, increasing the overall damage.

Swift Response from Fire Department

Fire department officials reported receiving the alert promptly. Eight fire tenders, including both large and small units, rushed to the scene. They arrived within a very short time and managed to bring the intense blaze under control. Their quick action prevented the fire from spreading further.

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported from this incident. All individuals present managed to evacuate safely. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine what sparked the flames.

Second Incident in Two Days

This fire marks the second such incident in the Magh Mela area within just two days. Earlier on Tuesday, a separate fire broke out at the campus of Shri Ram Naam & Manav Prachar Sangh. That location is near Sangam Lower Chauraha in Sector 5, under the Jhunsi Police Station limits.

In Tuesday's blaze, two tents were completely reduced to ashes. Similar to Wednesday's event, there were no casualties reported. No other property suffered damage in that earlier incident either.

The consecutive fires have raised concerns about fire safety measures in the temporary structures of the mela area. Officials are likely reviewing protocols to prevent future occurrences.
