Dumka: Police on Friday arrested a 30-year-old teacher for allegedly sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl in Dumka district. The arrest came after the girl's mother lodged a formal complaint. The accused was produced before a court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody, according to police officials.
The victim is a student of an English-medium school operated by the accused. The complaint alleges that the incident occurred on June 15. The mother submitted a written complaint on June 18, prompting the registration of an FIR and the arrest of the teacher. Authorities confirmed that a medico-legal examination is currently underway.
