A 17-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed to death by a group of juveniles in northeast Delhi's Seelampur area, the police said on Thursday.
Victim Identified, Suspects Apprehended
The deceased has been identified as Lucky Kumar, a resident of Gautampuri. The police said two juveniles had been apprehended within hours of the incident, while efforts were underway to trace another accused.
The police said they received a PCR call around 9 pm on Wednesday regarding a stabbing incident in Gali No. 4 of Gautampuri. When the police reached the spot, they found that the victim had been shifted to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Investigation and Motive
During investigation, the police found that Lucky lived in Gautampuri with his siblings and other family members. A murder case was registered. A special team examined the CCTV footage from the area and gathered intelligence, which led to the apprehension of two juveniles, aged around 15 and 16 years.
During questioning, the juveniles allegedly revealed that they were acquainted with the victim. A few days before the incident, Lucky had slapped one of the accused during a quarrel. Seeking revenge, the accused, along with his associates, allegedly attacked Lucky with knives.
Details of the Attack
The police said the boy tried to flee, but the assailants chased him and repeatedly stabbed him, leading to his death. The police seized the knife used in the crime and the motorcycle allegedly used by the accused. They are conducting raids to apprehend the third suspect involved in the murder.
