Officials confirmed the arrests on Thursday. They stated the minor boy, identified as the prime accused, now resides in a correctional home. The three adult suspects face judicial custody. Police sources revealed the girl initially met the boy through social media about one year ago.
Coercion and Extortion Allegations
Their online friendship gradually turned sinister. The boy allegedly coerced the girl into exposing herself on video. He secretly recorded the act without her knowledge or consent. In early January, the situation escalated dramatically.
The accused boy called the girl and demanded ten thousand rupees. He claimed possession of the compromising video. When she expressed financial inability to pay, he intensified the pressure. The girl felt trapped and frightened.
Video Circulation Goes Viral
Unable to confide in her parents, the girl shared her ordeal with her boyfriend. The boyfriend confronted the accused boy directly. During this confrontation, the accused shared the video with the boyfriend.
Fearing potential deletion of evidence, the boyfriend recorded the video on his own smartphone. He then forwarded it to a friend for verification purposes. That friend shared it with another local resident. From there, the clip spread rapidly across social networks, eventually going viral.
Father Files FIR, Police Take Action
A concerned well-wisher informed the girl's father about the circulating video. The father immediately filed a First Information Report on Tuesday evening. Police acted promptly on the complaint.
On Wednesday, authorities picked up all four accused individuals. They seized multiple mobile phones as evidence. Police also summoned other individuals who had received the video clip. Officers ensured deletion of the video from all identified devices.
