Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives of Two Brothers in Noida
Two brothers lost their lives in a devastating road accident late on Sunday night in Greater Noida. The incident occurred near Zero Point in Knowledge Park when a speeding car crashed into them as they stood by their vehicle during refueling.
Details of the Fatal Collision
Gaurav Sharma, aged thirty-two, and his elder brother Manoj Sharma, aged forty, both residents of Kundli Bangar village in Greater Noida's Knowledge Park area, were returning home with their families after shopping for clothes. Their journey took a tragic turn around eight thirty in the evening when their Bolero vehicle ran out of diesel near Zero Point.
Manoj obtained diesel from a nearby fuel station and began filling the Bolero by the roadside. Gaurav stood nearby, waving at other vehicles to help them move safely from the side of the road. At that moment, a Honda City car driven by Dr. Siddharth Katyan, a general physician at Sharda Care in Greater Noida, lost control and struck both brothers with tremendous force.
The impact threw the two men several meters forward, leaving them with grievous injuries and bleeding profusely. Police officials stated that the collision appeared to result from speeding and reckless driving by the Honda City driver.
Immediate Response and Investigation
A team from the Knowledge Park police station rushed to the accident spot upon receiving information about the crash. They transported the injured brothers to Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida, where medical professionals declared both men dead upon arrival. The bodies were subsequently sent for postmortem examination.
Police arrested Dr. Siddharth Katyan, who originally hails from Bihar, and seized the Honda City involved in the accident. Sarvesh Chandra, the police station in-charge, confirmed that authorities have initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
Family Mourns the Loss
In Kundli Bangar village, relatives and neighbors gathered to mourn the sudden deaths of the two brothers. According to police information, Manoj Sharma operated a momo stall in Sector 150, while Gaurav Sharma owned a grocery and tea shop near ATS society. Both brothers were married with children.
Manoj leaves behind two daughters and two sons, while Gaurav is survived by two sons and a daughter. Family members have alleged that Dr. Katyan was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. They further claimed that the car dragged both brothers several meters before screeching to a halt and then speeding away from the scene.
The tragic incident has left the local community in shock and raised serious concerns about road safety in the area. As the investigation continues, authorities are examining all aspects of the case to determine the exact sequence of events that led to this fatal collision.
