Two Young Men Die in Tragic Bike-SUV Collision on Khagaria Embankment
A speeding SUV struck a motorcycle on Tuesday night, killing two people in Khagaria district. The accident occurred on the Gogri-Narainpur embankment near the sluice gate.
Details of the Fatal Crash
The SUV was traveling from the opposite direction when it hit the bike. Dense fog covered the area at the time. Eyewitnesses reported that both the poor visibility and the high speed of the vehicle contributed to the collision.
The driver of the SUV managed to escape from the scene with his vehicle. Police are currently searching for him.
Victims Identified from Bhagalpur District
Police identified the deceased as Prashant Kumar, aged 30, and Sumit Kumar, aged 28. Both men came from Mojama village in Bhagalpur district.
Prashant Kumar was the son of Sunil Chowdhary. Sumit Kumar was the son of Sunil Das.
Police Account of the Incident
Rishu Kumar, the Station House Officer of Pasraha police station, provided details about the tragedy. He stated that Prashant Kumar died instantly at the accident site.
Sumit Kumar sustained critical injuries in the crash. He succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the Gogri sub-divisional hospital for treatment.
Police sent both bodies to the sadar hospital for postmortem examinations. The investigation into the accident continues as authorities work to locate the fleeing driver.
