A tragic road accident occurred near Chikkajala junction in Bengaluru when a speeding Audi car rear-ended a gearless scooter, resulting in the death of the rider and injuries to two others. The deceased has been identified as Mahesh Kumar, 40, while his wife Kala M, 35, and their minor daughter are currently recovering in a hospital. Mahesh and his wife were employed at a garment factory.

Details of the Incident

According to the police, the family, residents of Hunasamaranahalli, were returning home after attending a wedding reception. The accident took place when the Audi struck their scooter from behind. CCTV footage has captured the vehicle involved, but the license plate remains unreadable. An investigating officer stated, “We are adopting other techniques to trace the vehicle.”

Second Accident in Devanahalli

In a separate incident at Kote cross in Devanahalli, a rashly driven car ran over and killed a motorist. The victim, M Shekhar, a driver by profession, was riding back home after visiting his wife and nine-month-old son at his in-laws' home in Nileri village. Police have booked the accused car driver, Muralidharan Siddartha, a resident of Kanakapura Road, and seized his vehicle (KA-01-MG-5306).

Police Investigation

Authorities are actively investigating both cases. In the Chikkajala accident, efforts are underway to identify the Audi driver using advanced forensic techniques. The injured wife and daughter are reported to be in stable condition.
