Senior Congress leader and former MP Sandeep Dikshit on Wednesday announced that the party's newly formed 'Rachnatmak Congress' department would work to connect with like-minded social organizations, communities, and civil society groups outside the Congress fold ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
Strengthening Dialogue-Based Politics
The initiative aims to strengthen dialogue-based and people-centric politics while helping the Congress and the INDIA bloc build wider social outreach, Dikshit told reporters. He added that the Congress has historically maintained close engagement with different sections of society and organizations sharing constitutional values. 'The same effort is now being strengthened through Rachnatmak Congress,' Dikshit said.
Meetings with Intellectuals and Activists
During his two-day visit to Lucknow, Dikshit held meetings with intellectuals, social activists, educators, youth representatives, and members of civil society to discuss organizational structure, public concerns, and the role of constructive politics in current times. According to Dikshit, several participants shared suggestions regarding the future functioning of the platform and ways to strengthen public participation in political discourse. He also held one-on-one interactions on key social and political issues.
Focus on Youth and Democratic Values
Emphasizing the need for broader participation, Dikshit said the organization would focus on bringing together youth, intellectuals, social organizations, and ordinary citizens to promote democratic values and ideological dialogue.
Senior Congress leaders, including war room in-charge Sanjay Dikshit, media vice-chairman Manish Hindvi, senior spokesperson Anshu Awasthi, spokesperson Aleemullah Khan, and spokesperson Priyanka Gupta, were also present at the press conference.
