Union Minister Pralhad Joshi Slams Congress Over Bagalkot Riots, Accuses Appeasement Politics

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party on Saturday, accusing it of engaging in "appeasement politics" and demanding immediate action against those responsible for the recent Bagalkot riots. Speaking to reporters in Kalaburagi, Joshi expressed strong condemnation of the incident where slippers were flung at a Shivaji idol in Bagalkot, attributing such developments to the Congress party's political stance.

Demand for Targeted Action, Not Collective Punishment

Joshi emphasized that only the actual culprits involved in the Bagalkot riots should be arrested, warning against targeting entire communities. "It is not right to take collective action against innocent people," he stated firmly, highlighting the need for justice without victimizing broader groups. He alleged that Congress workers attacked people during the AI Summit, asserting that such behavior could severely harm the country's international reputation.

Sharp Criticism of Congress Leadership

In a direct assault on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Joshi labeled him as a "prodigal son" and an "ignorant politician," adding, "I do not know what to say about him." Regarding AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Joshi demanded an apology, saying Kharge should show prudence and apologize for the "damage done to the honour of the country."

Reference to Supreme Court Observations on Guarantee Schemes

Joshi also referenced the Supreme Court's observations on the Congress government's free guarantee schemes, pointing out contradictions within the party. He quoted Kharge as saying there is no money to cover potholes through these schemes, urging caution: "From now on, anyone should think before giving a guarantee." Joshi concluded by noting there were "many types of confusion" within the Congress party, underscoring internal disarray.
