President Droupadi Murmu to Grace Jamshedpur with Key Visits

The city of Jamshedpur is abuzz with preparations as President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to arrive on Thursday for a significant visit. Her itinerary includes laying the foundation stone for the Shri Jagannath Spiritual and Cultural Charitable Centre Trust complex at Marine Drive in Kadma and inaugurating the Droupadi Murmu Sports Club and Food Court complex at Manipal Tata Medical College in Baridih, Sidhgora.

Comprehensive Security and Traffic Management Plans

The East Singhbhum district administration has implemented robust arrangements to ensure the president's security and a smooth experience at both venues, which are located approximately 8 kilometers apart in different directions of the city. To manage vehicular traffic efficiently, the administration has divided Jamshedpur into five zones and 14 sectors, assigning specific tasks to dedicated teams.

Key measures include thorough cleaning and beautification along the president's route, removal of unauthorized structures, strategic diversion of traffic routes, and deployment of police personnel. Earlier this week, the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee conducted an eviction drive on the Sakchi-Baridih straight mile road and Kadma-Sonari stretch of Marine Drive, where the president's convoy of 25 vehicles will travel. This involved clearing illegal shops, filling potholes, sealing cracks, and applying a fresh coat of tar on the roads.

Traffic Restrictions and Adjustments

In anticipation of the visit, the district administration has imposed a ban on heavy commercial vehicles entering the city from 6 am to 11 pm. Additionally, long-distance buses that typically operate from Bhuyadih bus terminus will be rerouted to Dimna Chowk and Paridih for the day. Inter-state passenger buses coming from Odisha and West Singhbhum will terminate at Tatanagar railway station chowk and Bistupur Ram Mandir chowk.

Heightened Security Measures

Security has been significantly bolstered with 2,500 personnel, including 7 IPS officers, 18 deputy SP rank officials, and 135 magistrates deployed to oversee the president's safety. The Sonari aerodrome, where the president's helicopter is scheduled to land, has been fortified as part of these efforts.

District Commissioner Karn Satyarthi emphasized the importance of duty, stating that all officials, including police personnel, have been instructed to perform their roles with absolute honesty, integrity, discipline, and seamless coordination. Both DC Satyarthi and SSP Piyush Pandey have directed officials to strictly adhere to the president's protocol throughout the visit.

This visit underscores the administration's commitment to ensuring a secure and orderly event, highlighting Jamshedpur's readiness to host high-profile dignitaries.
