Amit Shah Calls for Rejection of Dynastic Politics in Uttar Pradesh
Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a powerful appeal to the people of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, urging them to rise above caste divisions and reject what he termed "dynastic parties" to ensure a resounding victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming 2027 Assembly elections. Speaking at the inauguration of UP Diwas celebrations at Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow, Shah launched a scathing attack on opposition parties, accusing them of keeping the state backward for decades.
Shah's Appeal for BJP Mandate
Addressing a large gathering, Shah emphasized that only the BJP could ensure genuine welfare and development in Uttar Pradesh. "The dynastic parties — whether Congress, Samajwadi Party or Bahujan Samaj Party — cannot ensure welfare in Uttar Pradesh. Welfare can be ensured only by the BJP," Shah declared. He highlighted the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the state as having unlocked every possibility for UP's progress.
Recalling the BJP's electoral successes in 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2022, Shah made an impassioned plea for continued support. "In the upcoming elections, I appeal to every voter of Uttar Pradesh to rise above caste divisions, reject these dynastic parties, and once again make the BJP's lotus bloom," he stated, referring to the party's election symbol.
Development Initiatives and Achievements
During the event, Shah launched several significant initiatives and highlighted the state's economic transformation:
- One District, One Cuisine (ODOC): Modeled after the successful One District, One Product (ODOP) program, this initiative aims to give distinct identity to traditional foods and beverages in each district.
- Sardar Patel Industrial Area Scheme: Shah laid foundation stones for six zones in the first phase, with plans for six more zones in the second phase and thirty zones in the third phase, calling it crucial for making UP a one-trillion-dollar economy.
- Economic Transformation: Shah noted that Uttar Pradesh has transformed from being primarily a labor source state to becoming India's fourth-largest economy and "food basket," contributing 20% to national foodgrain production.
Honoring Excellence and Cultural Heritage
The Union Minister felicitated several eminent personalities with the 'Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman' award for their contributions in various fields. The distinguished awardees included:
- Group Captain and astronaut Subhanshu Shukla
- Educational YouTuber Alakh Pandey
- Lakshmi Arya
- Agriculture scientist Sudhanshu Singh
- Poet Dr. Hariom Panwar
Shah emphasized that these awards would encourage talented individuals to excel in their respective domains. He also highlighted the significance of Rashtra Prerna Sthal, dedicated to Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Deendayal Upadhyaya, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, as a center of national awakening.
Law and Order Improvements
The Home Minister pointed to substantial improvements in Uttar Pradesh's law and order situation under the current administration. He reported a dramatic 94% decline in dacoity and an 82% reduction in robbery cases, attributing these achievements to what he described as the "double-engine government" of BJP leadership at both state and central levels.
Cultural and Religious Significance
Shah also referenced significant cultural and religious developments in the state, noting that the construction of the Ayodhya Ram temple and the organization of Mahakumbh in Prayagraj have elevated the glory of Sanatan Dharma to global platforms. These events, according to Shah, reflect the cultural renaissance occurring in Uttar Pradesh under the current leadership.
The Union Minister's comprehensive address covered multiple dimensions of Uttar Pradesh's development journey while making a clear political appeal for continued support in the upcoming electoral battles. His message emphasized economic progress, cultural preservation, and security improvements as key achievements of the BJP government that voters should consider when making their political choices in 2027.
