A 30-year-old man died after being run over by the Madhupur-Giridih passenger train near Garhatand under Mufassil police station limits of Giridih district on Friday. Police have launched an investigation to ascertain whether the incident was a case of suicide or an accident.
Victim Identified
The deceased was identified as Debashish Kumar, a resident of Shiv Mohalla in Giridih town. Family members said Debashish left home on his motorcycle in the morning for his shop in Bakshidih. He got married four months ago.
Shyam Kishore Mahto, the officer-in-charge of Mufassil police station, said investigation is underway.
Family's Account
Family members said Debashish had left home on his motorcycle on Friday morning, telling his wife that he was going to open his shop at Bakshidih. His wife, Moli Kumari, whom he had married about four months ago, said she was unaware of how the incident occurred and came to know about it only after receiving a call from the police.
