Tanker driver found dead near Kerala-Tamil Nadu border

Palakkad: In a suspected case of suicide, a 47-year-old tanker truck driver was found dead at Vadakkipalayam in Tamil Nadu, close to the Kerala border, on Thursday morning.

Victim Identified

The deceased was identified as Radhakrishna Pillai, a native of Kollam. Locals found him hanging from the rear ladder of a tanker truck parked there and immediately alerted police.

Preliminary Investigation

According to preliminary investigations, the tanker truck had been parked there since Wednesday night. Locals noticed Pillai hanging on Thursday morning, following which Vadakkipalayam police reached the spot and conducted an inspection.

Police contacted the owner of the tanker truck, which is registered in Kottayam, and collected details about the deceased. The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.

Postmortem and Investigation

The body was shifted to the government hospital mortuary in Palani for postmortem. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
