SP President Akhilesh Yadav Launches Scathing Attack on BJP Over Soaring Gold and Silver Prices
In a sharp political critique from Kanpur, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party, blaming them for the escalating costs of gold and silver that have burdened common citizens across India. During his visit to party leader Anil Arya's residence in Gursahayganj, Kannauj, Yadav articulated his concerns, accusing the BJP of engaging in practices that have made precious metals unaffordable for the average person.
Accusations of Gold Hoarding and Economic Policies
Akhilesh Yadav asserted that the government's actions have created a scenario where purchasing jewellery for significant family events, such as a daughter's wedding, has become a financial strain for the poor. "The government doesn't want any poor person to be able to buy jewellery for their daughter's wedding," he stated emphatically. Yadav linked the price surge directly to BJP activities, claiming, "Ever since BJP people started hoarding gold, it became expensive." He further warned about impending legislation that could track personal purchases, adding, "Now the govt is going to bring such a law, after which whatever you and I buy, it will have its account."
Political and Social Issues in Focus
Turning to other contentious matters, Yadav addressed the incident involving seer Avimukteshwaranand, criticizing the treatment of religious figures. "When a saint is in the position of CM, then a Shankaracharya was stopped from bathing. This is an insult to Shankaracharya," he remarked, highlighting what he perceives as disrespect towards spiritual leaders. Looking ahead to the upcoming assembly elections, Yadav made it clear that the Samajwadi Party's primary agenda would be to oust the BJP from power. "In the assembly elections, we will have only one issue and that is, remove BJP," he declared, while also pressing for a caste-wise census to address social inequalities.
Demands for Investigations and Transparency
Yadav extended his criticisms beyond economic and social policies, calling for thorough probes into recent events. He demanded a high-level investigation into the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, emphasizing the need for clarity and accountability. Additionally, he urged scrutiny of aircraft manufacturing companies, insisting that the truth behind related matters must be uncovered to ensure public trust and safety.
Through these statements, Akhilesh Yadav positioned the Samajwadi Party as a vocal opponent of BJP policies, focusing on economic hardship, social justice, and governmental transparency as key issues in Uttar Pradesh's political landscape.
